Warner Bros Discovery announced on Tuesday that, as part of its monetization push, the media conglomerate’s podcasts will be hosted by the massive music streaming service Spotify.
Warner Bros. Discovery will host its podcasts on Spotify’s enterprise podcast platform, Megaphone, which will be monetized through Spotify Audience Network.
Launched in 2021, the audience network is a podcast advertising marketplace. Advertiser engagement at the audience network has increased by more than 45% in the last 12 months.
Furthering the trend toward bundling, Reuters revealed in November that Verizon plans to provide ad-supported versions of Netflix and Warner Bros Discovery’s Max streaming services for roughly $10 a month instead of about $17.
