Zenith Bank has kicked off the Yuletide season by lighting up Ajose Adeogun Street and Roundabout in Lagos’ Victoria Island.
The Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, Ebenezer Onyeagwu, carried out the light-up ceremony on Saturday, according to a statement released on Sunday.
It said that the bank’s 17th annual Light Up Ceremony was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program.
During the service, Onyeagwu spoke and prayed for peace in every household, place of business, and nation. She urged everyone to internalize the message and spirit of Christmas, which is about peace, love, forgiveness, and respect for humanity.
He declared, “We hope that by turning on the Christmas lights today and having our founder and chairman’s wife, Mrs. Kay Ovia, here with us, we will awaken everyone’s sense of the season.
“We ask that the atmosphere of light fill each of us with comfort, love, happiness, contentment, and hope. We hope and pray for peace in our country.
“We ask that this joyful season fill us with immense joy. Therefore, Zenith Bank is also displaying that we want to use this to continue communicating and connecting with the community in the spirit of the Yuletide season.
The announcement further stated that Zenith Bank had fulfilled the goal of 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which provided a framework for addressing the major challenges confronting society.
According to the bank, its social initiatives were focused on improving public infrastructure, sports development, women’s and youth empowerment, health, and education.
