Google has disclosed that beginning in January 2024, Gmail users who still utilise the service’s HTML Basic View option won’t be able to.

“You can display Gmail on your browser in Basic HTML view until January 2024. After this date, Gmail automatically changes to Standard view”. Google said.

In comparison to the currently advertised version of Google Mail on the web, the old version of Gmail’s web interface provides a simpler experience, one that many of its users find less confusing.

Users of Gmail could access the basic HTML view mode and set it as the default view mode until recently.

Given that switching links no longer appear in the default view of Gmail, new users may not have access to this mode.

Users of Gmail who prefer the site’s Basic HTML version can bookmark the URL and manually open it each time.

In January 2024, the choice to do so will be eliminated. On a support website, Google states that the Basic HTML view mode has been deprecated.

For the time being, the business is not informing users of the mode who use Gmail about the upcoming change
