Snap has changed the reporting structure of India, and Pulkit Trivedi has been appointed as the new country manager.
In a notable step, the parent company of Snapchat has instructed its Indian teams to report directly to Trivedi, giving local leadership more latitude in directing growth, collaborations, and market development.
Ajit Mohan, the head of Snap’s Asia Pacific region who joined the firm from Meta last year, will be Trivedi’s immediate supervisor.
From Google, where he was the director of Google Pay for the India business team, Pulkit joined Snap. He will be in charge of managing Snap’s operations in India, which will include generating money, assisting partners, and supporting the creator community.
“Under a new operational structure, the Growth, Market Development, Partnerships, Content and Creator Ecosystem teams will now report directly to Trivedi,” Snap said in a statement.
The decision was made as India became more crucial for Snap. A number of adjustments, such as a focus on regional features, helped Snapchat gain traction with the larger Indian community, including marketers.
In less than two years, Snap’s monthly active user base in the country has doubled to 200 million. According to Wells Fargo’s calculations, it has a 60% reach among Indians between the ages of 13 and 24.
