The CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, announced new goals for artificial intelligence products on Wednesday.
Those included the use of humanoid robots in factories and self-driving software, while he conceded that he had previously been overly enthusiastic.
Musk noted that the producer of electric vehicles is in preliminary discussions with a significant automaker to licence its whole self-driving technology.
Musk has said that Tesla robots, which are currently in the experimental stage, may become a significant product. Even though just approximately 10 have been constructed so far, he said they may assist on the factory floors of Tesla as early as next year.
Tesla was compelled to reduce vehicle costs in order to gain market share, which affected profits, due to rising financing rates and competition from new EV manufacturers.
After years of unfulfilled promises to develop software that would enable cars to drive themselves, Tesla has decided to licence its technology.
According to an earnings presentation, Tesla has completed more than 300 million miles in the beta version of FSD, more than half of which were in the most recent quarter.
