The NSCDC Command and Training College in Jos, Plateau State, has officially opened under the leadership of The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari.
The Guardian reported that the event happened on Friday, according to a statement made by NSCDC spokesperson, Mr. Olusola Odumosu on Saturday.
According to the spokesperson, Buhari also officially opened the institution for 500 students enrolled in Course 1 while being represented by the former head of state, retired General Yakubu Gowon.
According to Buhari, the opening of a new training facility for the corps would promote initiative, order, professionalism, and greater service delivery to the country.
He stated, “The command and staff college will give you the information and chance you need to advance in your profession.
Buhari urged the participants to make the most of the chances the school had to offer and to show a high level of discipline in every task given.
The president praised the corps for its steady expansion and encouraged strict adherence to the training program’s requirements.
Governor Simon Lalong claimed that his choice to develop and give the college to the corps was influenced by its role in fostering peace in the state.
Lalong also expressed confidence that the training at the command would increase the efficiency with which employees carried out their tasks and their personnel’s regimental focus.
“I have high hopes that the participants’ training would further empower them to fulfill their contributions in a professional manner.
That will lead to peace in the state and the nation, according to Lalong.
The Commandant General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, expressed his gratitude to Buhari for creating an environment that allowed the corps to flourish.
He said, “We won’t let you down by maintaining this feat.
Lalong’s construction and donation of the college as one of his legacy projects received praise from Audi.
He reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to ensuring the safety and security of people and their property in the state and throughout the country.
