Microsoft on Wednesday announced the opening of its latest reliable cloud region in Poland, which is the first of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe.
This was disclosed in a statement titled “Microsoft launches its first datacenter region in Poland, bringing new opportunities to develop the digital economy” on the company’s website
According to the report, the new cloud region established by Microsoft in Poland comprises of three separate physical locations in the vicinity of Warsaw, each containing one or more datacenters.
The cloud region ensures the most elevated level of security, confidentiality, and legal data storage standards in Poland.
Microsoft’s introduction of the new cloud region in Poland is a continuation of its over 30-year association with the country and a promise to further aid the nation’s advancement in technology for societal, business, and economic growth.
Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said, “Microsoft’s investment in Poland will accelerate our country’s transformation into a technology hub for the Central and Eastern European region.”
“Thanks to the development of the Polish Digital Valley, hundreds of engineers and developers will be able to play a key role in the global economy without leaving the country. This is responsible development,” he further stated.
He emphasized that during times of economic and geopolitical instability, upholding the utmost standards of data storage security is of great significance.
The Prime Minister said, “Building resilience in this regard is crucial for the Polish economy and society.”
Microsoft’s decision to launch the cloud region in Poland was motivated by the increasing need for high-speed and dependable access to Microsoft Cloud services, as well as for high-performance computing purposes.
While speaking about the new development, the US Ambassador to Poland said, “The essentials to a successful transformation are trust, security and innovation, which are the foundations for the successful development of the economy. I am glad that Microsoft has been investing in Poland’s development for several decades.”
